Small, cuboid inductive safety switch for position monitoring
The inductive safety switches of the IQB2S product family are used for safe position and area monitoring. Thanks to the very compact design and wide range of connection variants, they offer optimum integration into the machine design. The IQB2S switches work without making contact and are low-wear. The inductive safety switches do not require a separate actuator to do their monitoring tasks. On the contrary, they are generally activated by metals, for example on machines. The IQB2S can be connected to a safe control solution via its self-monitoring switching outputs (OSSDs), allowing for high safety with PL d (EN ISO 13849).

Thanks to its compact design, the IQB2S can be integrated into nearly any machine and without additional mounting equipment. It does not need a special actuator for safe position and presence detection, just non-contact activation with metal, which considerably reduces mounting work. The rugged VISTAL® housing, made completely of plastic, and enclosure rating IP67 ensure the highest level of process reliability.

With its slim, compact format no bigger than a matchbox, the IQB2S can fit in any machine design.


Two holes, two screws: That’s all you need to mount the IQB2S on the machine. It can be quickly aligned using the hole pattern provided on the safety switch.

Amazing function
The IQB2S stands for reliable detection of metallic machine parts. Due to its non-contact operating principle, it is extremely low-wear and low-maintenance. As it does not have a blind zone and thanks to the precise switching point, it also allows for quick adjustment. Thanks to the two OSSD outputs with test pulses, the safety switch reliably detects short- and cross-circuits, therefore achieving a high level of safety up to performance level d.

High tolerance for high productivity

As it does not have a blind zone and is very resistance to shocks and vibration, the IQB2S offers a high level of machine availability.


The IQB2S exhibits high tolerance to deviation. And, just like the IME2S inductive safety switch, it features non-contact operation and has a very low wear rate.
